I have tried meditation on my own so many times in the past. I would always get discouraged and quit when I had thoughts pop into my consciousness, I would think that maybe that meditation wasn't for everyone, especially me. To here the acknowledgement that it's ok to have thoughts pop in, actually helped me feel vibrant and regain the ability to focus on my breath and the blank space. I feel that the simple statement provided the relief I needed to get over my most major obstacle regarding meditation.

I learned that it’s okay to have thoughts while you’re meditating, just acknowledge them and let them go, to drift out into the void again. You don’t need them really. Makes meditating a lot easier and more fun. Also short sessions were nice because I slowed down my thoughts but didn’t get sleepy. The event which brought me the most anxiety this week was the job rejection. It made me doubt my inner transformation, was I really the social, excitable and optimistic person I thought I had become or was I just believing a lie? Every time my mind strayed to that event it was a torturous reminder of the version of myself I was trying to grow from and I viscerally hurt when I thought about it. I tried to forget about the event by not acknowledging it and suppressing it because the shame and the embarrassment was so intense, but I knew this wasn’t the right way to overcome these hurtful thoughts. During the meditation when the instructor said to release all my anxieties I vividly pictured the interview room; there were white, black and orange snakes slithering outward from the room towards a black bin. It felt like a release of the bad emotions and I was so lost in the new feeling of contentment that I was mildly startled when the instructor began to speak again. I feel at peace.

I remember reading once that all the oxygen we breathe is all part of atoms. These atoms could have been anywhere, since they aren't created or destroyed. They simply exist. So the air I breathe can be filled with atoms that have created planets, been breathed in by newborn children, have been by the fresh sea air and have been through the freshest of pine forests by mountain ranges. Each atom I breathe could've been part of something great. Now? It's part of keeping my complex body working. And I think that's pretty beautiful.

Today I saw things and people that made me remember really false times. I have to move on from those times though. Some people are not meant to be anywhere near your life and It is 100% okay. I also do not no what I’m doing in life at all and I’m stressed with college stuff! I don’t know how to stop the stress! I started referring back to these people and things a little today^^ and it made me queasy and it made me remember why my brain was so skewed by these situations. I remembered though that that is no longer me and I have better things to come. It was a weird time for me, but it is wholeheartedly the end of that era. The end of an era that..changed me in ways. Laying on a blanket in my backyard on this sunny Spring day feeling a cool breeze against my skin, I inhale deeply through my nose saying silently inhale. Then I exhale long saying silently exhale to refocus my brain on my breath. With each inhale, I am feeling the energy from the earth renewing my mind, body, and spirit. On every exhale, I am releasing all the stresses from the day into the earth. I am feeling recharged. That was a nice time out which I needed. 😌🙏
